BLACK BOX found, what next?

Two days ago, Ahmedabad plane crash happened. Out of 242 passengers and crew, only one passenger miraculously survived. Many arguments were fought on social media. Experts discussed many things in newspapers and various news channels. Even common people were bombarded with questions out of curiosity due to this terrible accident on various media. Let us briefly review the causes of the accident with the guidance of aviation luminaries.

The plane that arrived in Ahmedabad to London had come from Delhi, before Delhi it had traveled to Paris, so at first glance it is evident that the plane was in good condition. According to experts, it had stopped at Ahmedabad airport for two and a half hours. During this time, its safety is checked by the concerned maintenance department and engineers. Even internal checks are done by the crew members. A V1 report is submitted in this and if there are any defects, the flight is canceled. Similarly, if there are any problems during take-off, such as temperature, speed or something else, the aircraft is landed again by recording the V2 report. In the Ahmedabad plane crash, the pilot had a May Day call, which highlights the possibility of some kind of emergency.

While modern Airbus series aircraft like 737, 757, 787 are capable of flying on one engine, various reasons are being cited in the background of this incident. One of them is that both engines may have stopped, or the fuel supply may have stopped. There are also many examples of accidents due to birds getting stuck in the engine, but such accidents have occurred within an hour before sunrise and an hour after sunset. Therefore, this possibility also seems bleak. If we consider the matter of fuel, a sophisticated indicator system is operating in the cockpit. Various filters are installed in the fuel line. Therefore, experts say that there is less scope for this suspicion.

When the video of the flight and the accident is closely watched, according to the expert’s observation, the aircraft seems to be leaning slightly to the right, so the right engine may have shut down initially. Then, the possibility of the left engine also shutting down cannot be ruled out. Even though the aircraft is heavily loaded, it requires more power and efficiency to take off, resulting in the observation that a slightly longer runway was used to take off.

Generally, the pilot is held responsible after a plane accident. However, in this incident, the pilot seems to have vast experience in flying. There are strict guidelines for having at least 1500 hours of flight experience for long-haul flights. Similarly, permission from the DGCA is required for this. Therefore, with such strict restrictions and advanced technology, the cause of the accident will have to be assessed on the basis of various technical issues. For this, the message recorded in the BLACK BOX or DVR will definitely be useful.

The Indian government will investigate this incident from the perspective of various possibilities, and there is no doubt that strict steps will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future.
